Student Loans

Loan to a NFTE Bay Area student to participate in the Wholesale Event:
The small loan allows the student to purchase goods at wholesale and then sell them to repay the loan and collect the profits.

The Wholesale Event is one of the experiential learning activities essential to making NFTE programs impactful for our students. Each student receives a $25 loan to buy products at wholesale, either online or through a class trip to a flea market, for example. Students must think carefully about the potential demand and the price point for their purchases in order to maximize revenue. Each NFTE teacher coordinates a selling event of some kind, often on the grounds of the school, selling to other students. The most salient lesson of the Wholesale Event is that, after selling their products and repaying their $25 loan, students get to keep the profits they have earned.

After $5,000 has been raised, Mastercard will match all subsequent donations one-to-one.
